This week's technique challenge was to try no line coloring. This is a technique I've wanted to try - and definitely need more practice on!
I did a watercolor wash on the entire piece. When that was dry, I stamped the rose image using the softest ink I have but it didn't disappear as much as I would like. Then I watercolored it. The tutorial was very helpful, I just need more practice.
I heat embossed the sentiment.
Thanks for looking.

I love it when a challenge gives me the final push to try something that's been on my list to do! It's an advantage of being a TCL hostess, LOL ~ I'd don't know when I'd have got round to trying this if I hadn't featured it this week. You were brave to start out with such a big image, Catherine!! It looks beautiful, the softness of the colouring reminds me of those old-fashioned roses which always seem to smell sweeter. And I love the look of the embossed sentiment.

Catherine,
what a gorgeous rose! Wonderful gold embossing around the flower really makes it jump off the page! My I first was drawn to that beautiful sentiment in that wonderful shade of pink and heat embossed! It really is gorgeous!

I think it's lovely.....especially for a first try. I have never seen clear embossing powder work as well on coloured ink as it does in your sentiment. I'm going to have to give it another try.

...sure its got a catchy beat, but can you stamp to it?
