I have a goal to try to do the Inspiration Challenge for each week in 2017, but since I made the goal recently, I decided to go backwards to the beginning of 2017 as well as keep up going forward! I had been going through the Featured Stampers' galleries and tagging my favorites to get back to, but the Free For All Friday challenge this week was a good motivator
to get in there and start making some cards, and I got through all of January's Featured Stampers!
The very first Featured Stamper of 2017 was tkcspot. Congratulations, Tara!
Tara's absolutely gorgeous card required a lot of coordinating papers and accessories to CASE and I immediately thought of the s.e.i. set of papers, tags, and stickers that I fell in love with and bought a ton of! This made it super easy to use a lot of different patterns but still make sure everything coordinated.
I started with an A2 kraft card -- in retrospect I would use the larger size 5.5x8 card to make everything less crowded and the different papers more visible, but I'm still pretty happy with this one.
I layered on some yellow-gold fine striped paper and cut multiple pieces from different coordinating papers, layering some onto slightly larger pieces for contrasting edges. I attached them using tape runner. I tied a piece of twine around one piece and knotted before I glued it down.
The top layers of tags were punched out of a page of tags and journaling cards that went with the same set. I didn't have a frame, so I cut the journaling lines out of the orange-brown tag to turn it into one! I stamped the sentiment on the smaller tag, added dark copper brads to both, and glued them in place. As a final touch I attached three swirl epoxy stickers to sub in for the flowers on Tara's original card.
I had a lot of fun making this card and it was a great way to use up some languishing stash!
Congrats again, Tara! I hope you had a great week as Featured Stamper!
TFL!
