When my son was young, he never made a fuss, or resisted nap time, because he knew that when he woke up from his nap, Popeye would be on the television, his very favorite cartoon. He has a milestone birthday next month, so I thought I would get a head start on a possible card.
I cut the film strip from the watercolor paper on the Cricut then used another strip of the paper and marked the location for each stamp, stamped the images then dredged both pieces in Distress Ink that I had blotted onto my mat and spritzed with water. I used the heat tool to dry the paper. I lightly water colored the images, trying to give them an aged film look.
I typed the Popeye sayings on the computer in Comic Sans print and printed it out on a piece of the watercolor paper and repeated the dredging and drying process.
I used a plain, lightly striped red paper for the background so as not to distract from the main image.

Fantastic nostalgic filmstrip design! Always enjoyed watching Popeye cartoon, but never persuaded me to eat spinach as a child. I do like fresh spinach in salads now.
What a wonderful birthday card for your son evoking a trip down memory lane.
