I was inspired on Saturday by this quilt from the Spearmintlove.com site. I wanted to make a card for my uncle who has just learned that he has extensively metasasized cancer in his spine, lungs and prostate. I liked the look of the patterns. I cut a piece of white and rather than stamping I simply took my marker and made the patterns. I had the circle already punched and stamped my sentiment into it. I thought the large circle would be OK and added more "white" space for the CAS challenge of featuring only words.
I got the chance to talk with Alf Sunday night and was so thankful to be able to tell him how much he means to me. I come from large extended families (Alf is #7 of 15 in my dad's family)and though I know I shouldn't have favorites....he's always been one of mine. Sweet to hear from him that he thinks its OK if we have people that are more special to us and that he thinks of me the same way (I'm one of his 75 nieces and nephews!) I was also blessed to hear him speaking about God as I've never been sure of his relationship with God. Praying for much comfort for my dear uncle in the days ahead. He's divorced and has only one child so this is a bigger challenge. Sure wish I lived closer but cards will have to do.

Oh, how terrible to be diagnosed with metastatic cancer. Blessings to your uncle Alf and you! What a sad situation. As for your card, it is a fantastic representation of your inspiration piece! Hugs!

Your work of art is simply divine and colors are peaceful & calming.
Im guessing each pattern you drew, symbolizes a cherished memory of your dear Uncle.
May you both find comfort reminiscing good days and prayers to get you through the not-so-good days.

Very nice, your patterns are lovely and the color is such a pretty, soothing color. I'm sorry about your uncle, glad you had the opportunity for a good conversation with him.
