Our host Sabrina provided a wonderful challenge & tutorial for Give Tapestry a Try!
For the bg, I used 3 colors of distressed inks- stormy sky, old paper & fossilized amber.
I stamped birds on the bg in white pigment ink then clear embossed entire card. The birds did not show up like I wanted so I restamped the birds in mint colored pigment ink and heat embossed again, resulting in muted tone. The picture is not reflective of the shiny bg, but you can see it IRL.
I used buff colored CS for mat then adhered to Teal CS.
The ferns are diecut from a mixed media CS giving it the mottled appearance, then glued to bg.
The bird is stamped in brown distressed ink, fussy cut and popped up on the ferns.
The Peace sentiment is a negative die cut that shines from the gold ribbon placed underneath.
Finished with 3 gold sequins.
Great challenge and will try again with bolder color bg.
Thanks for looking.

This looks wonderful Deborah, I love the muted colours of your tapestry technique background. The texture and dimension of the bird and nest look fabulous.

You did an excellent job with Sabrina's tapestry challenge. I love the soft, muted colors, your wonderful 3D elements and I totally love how you highlighted your die sentiment with a ribbon under it. Hugs! ~Karen.

Ah, I really like the way you used birds in the background as well as for your embellishment. One of my trial pieced came outuch fainter, and I couldn't figure out why. Yes, the glossy finish is hard to capture in a photo, but isn't it lovely . Thanks for playing along.
P.s. I love the colours in your foliage, just the colour of dead bracken on the mountains in autumn.
