What a fun technique! I used a stencil for my bg....applied glue using a glue stick over the stencil and waited for it to dry. I then did a wash of red watercolor. The next step was to wipe the bg using a damp paper towel to show off the areas of the stencil touched by glue. Love how it turned out! I added some Inka Gold in copper on the main panel and around the edge, also a thin line of Krylon pen.
Not sure who will be getting this Valentine...I usually make several Valentines and then decide who will receive it. It normally works out that they individually "look" like someone in my family and I assign them ;)
Question: my Inka Gold has really dried out..any way to rehydrate it??

I spotted this as I looked at the gallery home page! It's fab, Polly, so rich and textured like silk and velvet. Your background is beautiful - though it's the lovely framed tree that first drew my eye in.

Your bg turned out awesome Polly!! I love that you used a stencil. I just keep spraying some water into my inka gold. I can usually then just rub what I need off of it. I hope that helps. :>)

Polly, this is one, fabulous mixed media piece! Love the texture and color you achieved! You always create something so unique and beautiful! Someone told me glycerine or distilled water. I put a wet paper towel in mine, not distilled and it molded. So may try one of those other things.

Great idea to use a stencil with this, Polly! Your BG is beautiful, love the colors you used. And you've used that die and frame as a compellling focal point that doesn't cover the BG up. A fav!
