Sabrina's looking for lighthouses in this month's Tickle a Teapotter challenge, Shining Light of Hope. Hope you'll play along!
I used one of my favorite Art Impressions sets to create my lighthouse scene. I stamped the images, used a damp paintbrush to pull out the shading. I colored on grass stamps with waterbased markers, then scribbled the markers on a ceramic tile and water colored with them. After my scene was dry, I toned down the colors by sponging DI ink over the panel. I die cut the image panel, embossed the kraft paper and mounted on card base. Stamped the sentiment on vellum, scribbled yellow marker on the back of the vellum and mounted the sentiment panel on white cs so it would show up better. Added the twine knot to finish. TFL

You have so many great maritime details here, Carla - that amazing rope embossing, the rope theme carried through into the framing, and then the twine knot. But even so, the lighthouse still steals the scene - it looks like a little watercolour painting. I like the little fence along before the edge of the cliff!

Your subtle coloring of the lighthouse and surrounds is so right for this scene...it's soft and dreamlike. And I love the kraft embossed rope for a bg panel....how cool is that! The twine knot embellishment is a clever addition
So many beautiful visual elements in this card! The textured BG creates the initial focus which then draws you to the lighthouse scene. The light you created made me think of a sunrise burning off the fog. The sentiment reinforced my wake up call. 😄

Wow, where to begin as you have so many little things done adding up to a great card, from the foggy like background, to your lighthouse, and all just fits in to make it a super card.

I love your embossed craft paper ,to me it looks like real rope. The Stamping of your image and the use of water work so well. The water coloring on this card is perfect and the twine knot on the bottom is the perfect embellishment for the beautiful card.

I don't even know how you did all that. What a beautiful card! The white die frame is fragile-looking, and the bg looks like a coil of rope. Wonderful!

So neat. Such a pretty die-cut your beautiful scene is on, but even neater is all the neat extras...like the ropey ( new word ) layer of bg paper and you tied the cool know on there...kind of funny I worked a t a yacht club for like 7 years or something and never learned to tie ONE knot...I bad...lol...now very pretty here....TFS..:0)

Beautiful work. The knot is an excellent embellishment. I once added a rope knot but the twine was too thick. I like what you used. Your colouring and watercoloring is so well done.
