Just yesterday I said you learn something new every day here. I'm saying it again today. Carla's challenge today is to make our own stamps. She suggested die cutting some crafting foam to use for a stamp. I decided to make a background stamp using this Mistletoe background Spellbinders die. Because it's a whole panel die and I only cut out part of it, it's a little wonky, but once I stamped it into the BG of my card it doesn't look weird.
I started by masking off the edges of my paper and sponging milled lavender, shaded lilac and broken chine in two opposite corners and slightly on the edges. Then I stamped and restamped in shaded lilac and repeated with a different part of the stamp in broken china. I wrote out my sentiment with my Tombow marker and added a little bit of reflection on the letters in white gel pen.
Notice my stamp is green? I actually used a foam Christmas tree from one of those kid's foam crafts boxes. LOL!

I absolutely love this card! I am really impressed at the techniques you used to make this lovely card. I am also really impressed that you wrote your own sentiment which looks amazing with the background you stamped. This is a real WOW card! Hugs! ~Karen.

Absolutely love the die cut you used and what an amazing CAS card you created with it too. The added masking and sponging work so perfect. Your writing on that sentiment and the added highlights - WOWZA!!!!!

Jen, this is lovely! The soft, sponging and muted colors of the mistletoe work so well with your beautifully written sentiment. Like you, I learn so much from this community. Thanks for playing in my challenge and inspiring me to try some handwritten sentiments!
