Made for Just Add Ink Theme Challenge #342: http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/ which required the use of things beginning with the letter "N".
Normally, a Double Z-Fold card is quick and easy... unless you go crazy and add all kinds of extras to it, that is!!!
I was inspired by Wendy Lee's Double Z Seaside Shore card (https://goo.gl/HleuQm), but used the stamp sets and cardstock I had on hand to achieve the look I wanted.
Amazingly, the card is made to fit in a standard A2 envelope, but it offers LOTS of space to let your creative juices flow!
My card base is 4" x 11" Night of Navy folded at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2". The fish, clams and seaweed all come from the retired 1997 Stampin' Up set called "Fish Frolics". SU has made similar stamp sets more recently ("Seaside Shore").
All the designer paper is from the retired package called "Sweet Pea".
The ocean floor was created by tearing Kraft Cardstock and layering the pieces to give the appearance of underwater sand ripples. This provided convenient places to tuck the clams and seaweed.
The sentiment is on a "sign" that was given a wood look by stamping with Crumb Cake using the Hardwood background stamp. The birthday sentiment is from the 1995 "Button Bear" stamp set, which was stamped with Night of Navy. The sign was matted with Night of Navy and Kraft Cardstock, and stuck in the "sand" with a "post" cut from the scrap left over after I had made the wood pattern sign.
You can make a MUCH easier and simple card using the Double Z Fold technique, but because I did all the hand cutting of the seaweed and shells, and hand tearing the "sand", I rated the difficulty as a "4".
I love the ripples that the Seaside Embossing Folder allowed me to create on both inside panels above the "sand".
