Polly's challenge was a perfect one for me today! I managed to find a cotton ball floating around in a drawer in the bathroom and chose to create this cool alcohol ink background. I actually used the back of an old Christmas card for it. I figured it was glossy cardstock. I do love to repurpose my Christmas cards. It's a perfect background for my "See Ya Later" Alligator. Very crocodilian.
My card was also inspired by donidoodle. She made this cute Crocodile Thanks card: CAS409 Crocodile Thanks by donidoodle at Splitcoaststampers
and asked what else she could use it for. So when I realized I needed a farewell card for a coworker, I couldn't resist this cute Bugaboo digi and a "Later Alligator" card.
I printed my digi and die cut the stitched rectangle. Then I drew my sentiment in pencil and drew over it with my new Tombow dual brush pens- turquoise (love them!). And drew over just the bottom of the "Later" with a cobalt blue. This is my first card that I've hand-lettered the front sentiment. I was nervous that I would ruin it and have to start all over, but I'm very happy with it.

The texture in that background is perfect for your cute alligator!! Mind you, ha, I get that with the cheapo felt that I use on my homemade applicator. The ombre sentiment is fun, too!!

Your bg turned out really cool..it has kind of a marbled look..and good for you to recyle an old card. That is a very cute alligater and I'm so impressed with your letter on the Later....whenever I try to do that it turns out looking like I'm a grade schooler..Thanks for playing along today and Happy New Year!
Your card is so cute! I love your coloring and your great alcohol ink background! That is really a great idea to use that coated cardstock from store bought cards instead of glossy. I had planned to use some Christmas cards to cut tags from, but I had not thought about using other parts of them! TFS!
