Made as Design Team Card for "Try Stampin' -Or Not- on Tuesday": http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/ where the sketch was a split panel with optional theme "Bling for New Years".
I have good friends whose anniversary is the first part of January, so I used the New Year's toast theme and morphed it into an anniversary card.
The card is made by folding 4.5" x 11" card base, then cutting the front panel so that a section in the middle is removed. In this case, I removed a piece 2-1/8" tall.
The two remaining pieces of the front panel were decorated with a foil swirly pattern. The central panel was created by stamping the champagne glass twice using Versafine Onyx Black ink, the the center of the glasses were covered with Gold Wink of Stella. The champagne bubbles were from the SU Fish Frolics stamp set. I painted them with Wink of Stella and then stamped. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark, then heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
The front panel was then matted with black cardstock and attached to the two pieces of the card base using Tear & Tape super sticky tape (because the connection points would take stress each time the card was opened, so the adhesive needed to be sturdy).
The trick to assembling this card is to attach the front panel first to the top of the card base front, then lay the bottom panel face up aligned with the bottom of the back of the card, then press down the champagne glass panel onto it. This will assure perfect alignnent. No fancy measurements, just eyeball and press the champagne glass panel down.
Looks a LOT harder than it is!!!
