I just couldn't resist making a second card for today's challenge.
My Chinese daughter-in-law explained to me this long standing tradition . . . . All the elders carry red envelopes stuffed with varying amounts of money which they give to anyone who wishes them "Happy New Year". This is to ensure that you will have good fortune and a very Prosperous year!
I wish you ALL prosperity in the new year!

Love the fortune cookie!!! And I'll say yes please to a little prosperity ;-). I'm definitely going to try scalloped ovals next time after seeing how good yours look.
It must have been so interesting living in Japan, I learned something new about you today through this challenge.
