This notebook measures about 4 inches by 2 inches. I bought a set of three on a sale table at Office Depot years ago. To decorate the plain blue matchbook style notebook, I embossed the cover with Boho Chic embossing folder by Stampin Up. The white core broke through the embossing so I sanded the raised design. I made the butterfly a while back and keep a bunch in my stash. I cut the butterfly shape from the dies and backed the die with watercolored tissue. I did this by laying down distress inks on an acrylic block, spritzing them, and then dragging tissue paper across the inks. The tissue was glued to the back of the die cut.
I added the ribbon and the sparkle enamel dots with extra strong glue and added the flourish and "antennae."

Wowza! Jean, this is lovely! I never would have thought to emboss the cover of a notebook. Great idea!
