Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge is hosted by our very own Kittie747. It is Day 11 and she has chosen along with Anna Wight a Country Christmas theme. I had the hardest time with this theme so I decided to come to SCS and check out the FS575 Featured Stamper challenge. What a nice surprise to see Mary aka Octoberbabe has been chosen for today. I'm so happy for you Mary. I searched though the many pages of cards in her gallery and as soon as I saw this card I immediately thought of the country church that my DH attended in his childhood. His parents attended this very church until their passing. The main thing I remembered about the church was the red door and clapboard siding. So as soon as I saw Mary's card with the church and clapboard siding I knew what I wanted to do. I had just gotten the YNS front door die in the mail so I used it... I love this die. I cut an extra door and cut 6 panels out of it to use to dry emboss the 6 panels on the door. I scored in the clapboard siding and used a gray Copic in the grooves for my shadows. I used the Misit to stamp the inside sentiment just where I wanted it. I wanted a welcome mat so I found a sticker and adhered to a piece of cherry cobbler for the doormat. I punched a hole through each tag so it can be closed to be delivered to the recipient. I would included a note letting them know to remove the ribbon for an added surprise.
Thank you Mary for inspiring me today.
Thank for looking

Totally charming, Irene. A gift with a card that can be used multiple ways. You put a lot of thought into these tags besides your usual and incredible talent. Love how the door opens to reveal the warm greeting.

Oh, what a joy for the recipient to receive this wonderful project of yours. It's all beautiful and I love the story about your hubby's parent's church. I love old churches and try to photograph as many as I can. That one sounds like one I would dearly love.
