Hello Audrie and thank you very much for this weeks' Inspiration Challenge. One of your own boards 'Art Journals'. It was quite exciting to get lost among your pins, but the challenge was one that definitely needed 'dreamin' on. With the light of day, I knew exactly what direction I was headed. Victoria Ericsson's 'An Artist'.
For those of us a certain age, typewriters have never lost their allure, right? Even beloved authors still pound the keys of a manual machine. I recall learning to type in the 10th grade. That was back when you couldn't hit the delete button or highlight a whole paragraph and 'erase'. Nope, you had to use correction
tape or fluid. Well...I am taking you back to those days as my 'bleed it out' just wouldn't fit my paper!
I thought it would be fun to have this marvelous quote coming from my typewriter. I scored my Hermes 3000
at my local Goodwill for $6.99. Found a typewriter man still reconditioning said machine and had him clean mine up. Here's a Chicago Trib article What's so special about a Hermes 3000?
I altered Victoria's quote in Photoshop resizing it and then collage the words directly onto the typewriter. The rest of the quote was placed inside the card.
Audrie, those art journals you pinned that spoke to you in so many ways was captured by Victoria Ericsson's quote. We all bleed out our souls in our art.
Thanks for sticking with me...I appreciate your thoughts.
Here's a pinterest link Hermes 3000 if you've never seen one.

Now this is what I call clever and a perfect take on your inspiration! Love that you somehow got the typing IN the typewriter! Your imagination has no limits, Susan and it's always a delight to see your cards!

WOW! This post brought me back years....yes, I do remember those typewriters....and I was even on the "typing" team where we future "secretaries" competed to see who could type the fastest. Back then I had a speed of about 70WPM, but when the electronic typewriters came out (makes me laugh to think of them now) many of us could pass 100WPM! Those were the days! Thanks for sharing your lovely card and story! It truly made my day!

I remember 10th grade typing too!! I looked too much and had to use a letterless typewriter!! You took your inspiration to a whole other level! What an imagination you have my friend. This is excellent beyond words.
