Another card for Polly's Scrapaholics Unite! mixed media challenge. For my different mediums I have acrylic paint, alcohol inks, distress inks and Brushos...and again, except for the vellum and the card base, all scraps...
The base layer, I was trying to get separate blocks of colour with Brushos but it bled even under my alleged bleedproof expensive tape, so it sat in my box till yesterday. DH picked this verse out for me to make a card, and as I was totally uninspired I started rummaging through my scraps. The colours reminded me of seashore and sea, so I found scraps of polished stone for the seahorse and starfish, and the shells are cut from a wrinkle-free distress fail on cardstock that is too absorbent. Hard to see the strip under the vellum, but it was an underwater scene done with paints and an IO stamp and trimmed off from a 6" square when I made an A2 card.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment, then used eyelets to attach it to the strip. Laid out my extra die-cut elements and attached them. Edged the piece of card with gold acrylic paint.
When DH said that though he really liked this, he didn't want to send it to his friend, I added cheesecloth, so all's well that ends well. I made him another card and have this one that I like in my stash. Thanks, Polly!

Oh, Sabrina, this is an amazing background...and I didn't even know what the challenge was...so that was a benefit. I LOVE the background with the undersea theme, and what a precious Scripture verse. And the added cheesecloth is a great idea! Beautifully done, sweet friend, and tell DH it was a great verse! Hugs! xoxo

Amazing, artsy, totally cool....this is such a great card. The angles in the bg makes it feel like it is moving. I like the colors, pattern and all the ocean motifs.
