This started out as a card for Carla's great hat-themed Tickle a Teapotter challenge - but before I had got more than halfway through making it, I realised I had some more suitable hats stamps to make another card yesterday. As always right now, time is short, so I decided that by hook or by crook I was going to finish it off to make it work as a sample for Toni's "Oh Ribbon" WTUI challenge, which you can find HERE.
I revisited TLC557 Dangle Art to create a little frame at the top of my card. The ghosts and pumpkin are from SU's Holiday Home, the rest are "all my own work" - and wouldn't you know it!! I added Glossy Accents to the top, so that it would stay white when I got as far as sponging the rest of the card.
Midnight was stamped, coloured with pencils and masked, then I sponged in the sky and grass, and spritzed the sky with water. After removing the mask I added some Stickles to Midnight's hat. I added some mushrooms in the foreground, and two little ribbon knots (after digging deep in my ribbon stash for some black grosgrain) with French Knot eyes to do duty as bats.
The base was sponged with Black Soot distress stain and dotted irregularly with a white gel pen.
It might be a stretch, but I'm also calling this a card for Jean's Which Witch Falliday Fest challenge. I wouldn't really be a witch at all, if I were it would be a good one. This little kitten, even though I haven't coloured him black, always reminds me of Gobbolino the Witch's Cat who didn't want to be a witch's cat at all, he wanted to be a little kitchen cat with a family to love him. I guess I should remember to colour him with one white paw next time!

This has taken me ages to comment on.....I read a few words then scrolled back to check out the step, repeated this 80 times!! Wow, wow, wow Sabrina this is pure magic. Before I forget, black soot border is brilliant! Your dangle art is incredible, you must be thrilled to bits. The sponged scene is wonderful, the ribbon bats are genius and your little hat wearing kitty is perfect. Can you tell how much I love this my friend. Ohhhhhh you are going to make one Teapotter very, very happy!

I love all your cards, Sabrina, but this one is my favorite. The details on this card are totally amazing. Your use of ribbon is just the best ever with the bats. Not surprised you would be a good witch. TFs

The black grosgrain ribbon bats are brilliant. Can't believe you went through the trouble to make french knots for the eyes -- I just assumed they were made with a white paint pen. And the dangly technique is perfect for Halloween -- in fact, I'm pretty sure I used it about this time last year.
I love kitties no matter what, but the story you referenced sounds adorable.
