I wanted to make a Thanksgiving card with leaves, but with an atypical background. So I chose the Bokeh method, but used sponge daubers to apply the green, orange and yellow ink in irregular shapes that covered my whole panel. Then using an acetate template with holes punched out that were 2", 1.5" and 1", I applied white craft ink to the background using the largest hole multiple times, then the middle size, then the smaller size using my sponge. The real trick to create a good Bokeh look is to then using a sponge dauber and apply very dense white circles as the last step. I usually stamped over the top of the dauber spots twice or more to make them extra white.
The leaves were stamped using Old Olive ink onto Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry cardstock, then hand cut with scissors. The acorns were stamped with Early Espresso onto Crumb Cake, and colored with a Creamy Caramel Stampin' Write Marker. Again, they were hand cut and mounted with pieces of adhesive foam dots.
The sentiment stamp was a two-line "Happy Thanksgiving" greeting, but I used masking tape to cover each word I didn't want to show up when I inked the stamp, then removed the tape before stamping. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to align the two words as a single sentiment tag. The white tag was glued to the center green panel.
The card base is Garden Green, the Bokeh panel is Whisper White. The Garden Green smaller panel was "antiqued" using Olive Olive ink and a sponge, then mounted on a Pumpkin Pie mat.
I really like the look of the Bokeh technique,,, especially how it softens the look of a card.

Wonderful autumnal leaves and I love the bokeh effect - just like dappled light through the trees on an autumn day. Thanks for joining us over at Create With Connie and Mary this week!
