I don't know where to start to explain this canvas. It began as a 3x5 piece of heavy cs. I had no idea what to make, so I did my version of a warm up stretch to loosen up my brain....I took mod podge and plain paper towel and glued it down, making sure that it looked like a 3 year old did it with lots of lumps, bumps, and wrinkles. Then some cotton rolls caught my eye. As a dental hygienist, my office is full of cotton rolls, even though I have not used one in the 30 years I have worked. Two must have stowed away and followed me home from work. I cut them in half and glued them down. I always have toothpicks to help place glue and bling on cards, but since I seemed to be in a mood of wild abandon, I just glued them next to the cotton rolls. I glued some scraps of lace edging on the right side. At this point I needed to come up for air...these creative frenzies can be exhausting, do I covered the whole thing with gesso and let it dry. I added some dots of glue for more texture, then sprayed with different color dylusion sprays. I also splattered with white acrylic paint. I added dots and stripes to the cotton rolls and toothpicks with a black sharpie. At this point it was getting too heavy so I painted another piece of cs with acrylic paints and covered it with lace, and glued the first panel to it. I then had to glue the whole thing to a canvas because it was still unstable. The flowers are all from heartfelt creations. The branch and birds are an IO din cut that I cut twice and made my own tree branch. I also cut the birds off and positioned them where they worked better on this canvas. As usual, the hardest parts of this project were getting started and stopping before I ruined it. TFL, Francie

This is stunning (and I hope the emergency turned out all right) but this card just popped out to me in the gallery; love the colors mixed with silhouette -- just lovely.

I too hope the emergency was minor and quickly resolved. This is AMAZING, all that texture and dimension and colour. I think I need to look for some more sprays. I love the look of all the spattered white, and the little bird nesting up at the top.

I pinned and faved this before I even knew how this was created. Hope your emergency turned out OK. Francie this is SPECTACULAR. I read a process, scrolled back to check it out and repeated this until I had finished your fabulous write-up. I didn't want your story to end, but I am glad you stopped when you did. Not one single thing could make this more incredible than it already is. Gutsy effort applying Dylusions straight onto the canvas!!! I love this to bits my friend.
