Due to impending flood waters, we have been out of our home since last Saturday (and I have also been working out of our disaster recovery center since my office was evacuated as well).
Thankfully, a dear friend took in two refugees and provided us with a safe and comfortable place to ride out the storms. The other good news is that she has a stamp room in her basement (she was the one who introduced me to stamping so many years ago), so when I remembered at the last minute that I agreed to host the Inspiration Challenge at SplitcoastStampers this week, I was able to use her supplies and pull a card together.
Thankfully the barriers held back the water & the crest was lower than initially anticipated, so we suffered no damage and will be moving back this week.
I chose this Retro Rosana Plate from Decorative Dishes for my inspiration.
I used various markers and pens to add red & green highlights and then finished with a few paper flowers for accent. Not particularly my best work, but given the week I've had, it makes me pretty happy.

So sorry to hear you have been displaced from your home, but how wonderful it must be to have a stamping friend as your home away from home. Looks like she has an awesome stamp collection. Hope you will be home soon, and damages are minimal. You are in my prayers.

I too am sorry for your predicament! I'm glad to read the waters were held back successfully and you will be going to a dry home. However, for being out of your element, you created an amazing card! I agree with Liz, your friend must have some fantastic stamps. Bless you and yours!

Friends are the BEST! What a harrowing experience...the waiting to see what happens has to be VERY hard. Glad you and your home are safe. Wonderful card with a good message...even though there may be "bumps", life is good. I like the symbolism of the sun rising over her shoulder.
