This wasn't how this card was envisioned at all. Yes, I planned the bricks and the background with fall leaves and the French script background. And yes, I planned to use the bird, which I fussy cut even though I have the die. I just couldn't get the panel that the bird was going to be on to be right, even though I worked on it for a while. I couldn't get the bird to pop on it, and it just looked non-special. This sign-post/sign just kind of fell into place as I was looking through my dies for something to make it all okay. So, while this is a looser interpretation of the sketch, I still feel pretty good about it.
Plus it shows more of the bricks, which I love. I just embossed and dragged three red inks across the bricks. So easy.
I have posted pictures of the different layers on my blog if you are interested in seeing the card before it was put together: www.cyndiwatkins.blogspot.com

Well, this card may not have been what you had originally envisioned but it turned out fabulously!! Love the bird with the brick and script background- great job with the sketch as well!
I love your card! The bricks are awesome and the sweet little sign with the 'hand cut bird' is perfect. I was playing and stamped 26 (yes, 26) birds, watercolored them and hand cut them all out...however, I cut the legs off so mine will all need to be roosting or nesting. I, too, have the die. Funny creatures, aren't we? Your card is absolutely beautiful!
