I just gaped at this beautiful DP by Recollections when I saw it. There is such passion in the movement of the design. When I got it home (bought several, of course!) it was then I realized that much thinking would be involved (sigh) in the best way this can be used to really show off the power (for lack of a better word) of the design. I could use an outer space theme, but in my accumulation of everything under the sun I couldn't think of anything I had available that could pertain to outer space...but then I had to remember the clickety-click parts of my brain do not always spit out my accumulated memory (it's an old people thing). I would then have to search through everything. Not being that motivated, the thought occurred, Really fantastic paper, but....Everything? Not!.....Picked "water"as a theme. That works too. I have a decent selection of water related items. Couldn't really stamp on it, it's too dark. I've been told to take it easy for a few days...so fussy cutting is out. I usually avoid that like the plague. Stickers? No, not subtle enough. What??? I don't remember having any boat dies (will have to remedy that) and I can't use any seaside dies...this is really roiling "water"...it would look really weird with all this water action going on. Then a click in my brain sounded and I remembered a packet of the gold foil sailboats I had bought many, many, many years ago and never used then because they were dimensional and would "dent" going through the squashy mail machine. Now, in all my wisdom, I have figured out that a person can use them on a card that is Hand Delivered (so smart, sometimes I scare myself). Did have to look through some "stuff" to find them but I didn't exert too much effort. Glued essential sections of it down on my gorgeous paper, stuck the words in the corner. Done!
Thanks for looking and lending an ear. Have a fantastic week!

Oh, Ellen, I too loved reading your story! It's fascinating how you immediately LOVED this paper, and I can see why! It's gorgeous and really does have such movement! And this gold ship is perfect and will be wonderful for a hand-given card. And the simple sentiment with the blue card is marvelous! Oh, let's not talk about age, my friend - hehe! We are all getting up there, and it's fun. We always have to keep a good sense of humor! Hugs, sweet friend, and thanks for putting a smile on my face! xoxo

OMG! You have such a delightful sense of humor. I loved your comment "hey I'm old' That's my fallback response to anyone who would critique my artsy cards . Loved the fact that you found the perfect gold foil sailboats, and you actually were able to find them! I could take a lesson in organization from you for sure. Bravo!
