I'd seen some of the Underwater Gel Cards on Pinterest and decided to try to give it a bit of a twist by putting the fish in the gel and making the panel visible from both sides. The process is still a bit of a work in progress but I was happy enough. http://bit.ly/1UzmKUB

I love this card too! I love the things that you mentioned...seeing it from both sides...fish in the gel...even the Fischer (fish)...I think like that too! But also the things you did not mention...the anchor with its weathered look...the rope...there are just so many details that make this a fabulous card. I SO want to make a card like this!

Thank you, Reformedstamper!! You've really blown me away with that glowing critique!
I do hope I get to see your card. Do be very careful to give lots of coverage with the heat embossing, especially the edges (I did several coats) and bear in mind that even so, the fish will be affected by the gel.
However, my BIL saw the card last night (4.5 days after making). I thought the fish & gel were looking a bit sad but he LOVED it. Now he wants one too!
I wish you well, and thank you again!
