Please give me an A for effort, but I’m not sure what grade for finished project. A SCS friend sent me this black die-cut circle which was perfect for the sketch challenge today. She’s going through a tough time, so I wanted to make her a card in her favorite style, which is Vintage. However, Vintage is not my forte and I struggled with this one yet I persevered. The sketch challenge helped. I used a pre-stamped, pre-colored teacup, which I fussy cut. On top of the black circle, I put lace glued on a circle of printed paper; the print did not show through as I thought it might. The lace was difficult to cut along the circle edge, but perhaps the frayed look adds to the Vintage look. (?) Using Dimensionals, I raised up the circle and added a bow. For the background, I used two Vintage-looking papers from my stash that I have wanted to use up. There is a soft green, velvet ribbon on the line between the papers. The finishing touch is a pearl on the teacup handle and three pearls on the diagonal to match the center line. This works for the Alphabet Challenge – Letter V – vintage, velvet ribbon. Thank you!

It's beautiful, Diane!! No struggles apparent by looking at this lovely card!
Wonderful layering and love the lace, but what I love the most is that beautiful pansy, colored so beautifully!! Awesome job!

Id say you do vintage very well. I too have vintage as a favorite so I think your friend will be honored to receive this. It's very nicely done Diane. I love the little pearl on the teacup handle.
