One recent early morning, I looked out my window and found myself admiring the beauty of various shades of green leaves on the trees with the sunlight shining through them. There was a slight breeze which moved the leaves to reveal various patterns of light. It was a beautiful sight to see. When I saw this painting on the Abstract Art Pinterest board that Audrie took us to for last Saturday's IC challenge, it brought that to mind and inspired my card.
It takes a lot of practice and concentration to achieve just the look you want, using the direct pad to paper inking and distressing technique but that is one of my absolute favorites and it is the technique I used. I tried to create the various shades of green leaves with different degrees of sunlight and pattern showing around and/or through them. I really enjoyed creating this abstract art. I finished it off by distressing the edges with SU's midnight muse. On the edges of a SU real red mat, I used an Andy Skinner stamp to layer SU real red, pumpkin pie and midnight muse. I ended up trimming the mat to create such a narrow border that you can barely see the stamping but it's there. I adore Andy, he is such a talented artist. His mixed media is WOW!
Thank you for looking!

Gabby, the way you use ink DTP always impresses me and is one of the things I love seeing on your cards. Having quite a few photos in my collection which were taken lying on the ground looking up into the leafy canopy, I can just imagine the look you were going for, and I think you achieved it perfectly.

Gabby, amazing art! It reminds me of a bike ride I did here locally on our Tow Path, a multi purpose path under a canopy of trees, all beautifully colored in hues of green with sunlight cutting thru the branches. This is gorgeous!
