I was inspired to make this birthday card by Jenni Murray's card at the MUSE167 challenge. I have had this Creative Memories packet for probably a decade and I thought it would be fun to stick to her basic sketch but instead of bright colors, to use pastels.
I wet and colored my watercolor paper with Ranger distress ink. Air dried then cut the happy birthday with my "new" Lawn Fawn dies--love 'em. To anchor my gifts, I cut a strip of the CM designer paper and attached it to my card. I added the gits, stars and the die cut words. I was gong to add some sequins but at the moment, I couldn't put my finger on the pastels. I will probably add a few of them before I mail it.
It was a fun, easy card to make and I am thrilled that I finally made use of the "antique" CM packet. Heehee.
THANKS for looking!

Hey, this is awesome. I am not quite understanding what you used to get the gifts if they are not stamps. Dies? It's a beautiful and quaint looking card. I love it.

The loose watercoloring on this grabbed my attention! LOVE the coloring, Gabby! And water color is not all that easy! You did a spectacular job and love the soft color!

What a lovely soft look this has - it's the style of card that DH buys for me when, as so often now, he doesn't have time to make something. It looks great as it is without the sequins, but they'll add extra birthday sparkle if you find them.
