Barbara has chosen our colors this week and she has chosen: melon mambo, tempting turquoise, so saffron and a dessert of a watercolor. I made 2 cards today – one with desert and one without.
For this card, since I was going to watercolor, I chose distress colors that would match as best as I could. On a piece of watercolor cs, I stamped and embossed the flowers. Then I watercolored the flowers and bg, and then spattered with diluted inks of the same color and also with white diluted acrylic paint. When watercoloring the flowers, I used just a touch of some blue ink to make the petals stand out, and then added just a bit of copic C1 after that for depth. Added a die cut border with the PB die. Assembled and added sequins for the finishing touch.

Oh my, Maura, what an amazing card! Love the flowers dancing down the right side of the card and the beautiful melding of the challenge colors in the background. I also really love the structural effect of the design on the left side of the card, which is a great contrast to the rest of the design. This is one of my favorites of yours, for sure!

Blimey Maura - I really hurt myself when I hit the floor after seeing this beauty. The depth you have achieved for your flowers with that stunning background is beautiful... another card I love!

You took the dessert option and ran with it--and what a fantastic card you've created! I love the flowers, even more love the background! I bought some white acrylic paint months ago; I really should use it, huh? Oh, and--my comments here were delayed while I searched for the PB dies, and of course, placed my order for them! Into my faves!
