There were several rooms in our house growing up that had wallpaper. My favorite was a toile print (in my mom's favorite blue,my card features green, my favorite color) that was in the hallway leading to our bedrooms. So I decided to recreate that. The silhouette is also inspired by my childhood home. My mom had silhouettes cut of our profiles and these were framed and hung in small oval frames and anchored by a ribbon and a gold doo-dah at the top. I made my frame by cutting 2 nesties together and rubbed the frame with Inka gold. My toile bg has just a hint of distress ink sponged on it to make it look like it had been on the wall for quite a few years. I also added some green chalk to the designs in the print. It's very subtle but it really brought out the figures. TFL!

Fantastic card of your wallpaper memory and your card is the perfect view. We had silhouette portraits too, it must have been the crafty thing to do at the time.

Polly, not only do I love your card, it took me back to years ago at Mom's house! Love the doo-dad! I really thought it was a button of some sort. We too had that wallpaper and the silhouettes cut of the kids! Wonderful memories by seeing your card.

Fun story, cute card. I also remember this print. My mom had curtains of red and white out of this print. I bought the stamp to remember the good old days. Thanks for the memory.
