I tried to get both challenges covered to-day. First the border ...which is from a Hampton Arts set that I got at Mike's $ bin. The CAS challenge was to make a special card for a lady. The only 'lady' left on my Mum's side of the family is Auntie and she is a force to be reckoned with even at age 85!!! So this is for her. I had sketched a couple of Iris that were in my garden last year but didn't get around to painting them so I decided that a black and white pen sketch instead of colour would be suitable for this card. Since there was a lot of detail I used a technique called 'cross-hatching' to fill in the areas of shadow.

So Beautiful and creative!! No color is needed for this beautiful iris, it can be whatever the recipients favorite color is! The border sets off your pen work perfectly, Sue!!

What a beautiful Iris! Your sketch is wonderful! They are one of my favorite flowers. What fun to get a bargain stamp and actually use it in a lovely way.
