When I realised there was still time to play in the Scripture & Lace challenge to mark ODBD's 8th anniversary, I decided to make a card for a friend in church who has had a lot of health issues over the last few months - and the doctors can't seem to figure out what's the cause.
First of all I stamped the sentiment and embossed it with clear EP, thenI sponged the card with mostly Peeled Paint but a little Vintage Photo and Wild Honey, then I layed the trellis stencil over it and misted with Brusho acrylic mist. Left it for a couple of minutes, then removed the stencil. I embossed the floral edge, added the yellow lace and stitched round the edge with a metallic thread.
Image was my original idea for lace before the card evolved to include more - stamped on card with Versafine Smokey Grey. Masked the centre, sponged the edges with Antique Linen and Wild Honey. Centre is coloured with Inktense and Polychromos pencils.
I wanted to include the lace butterfly, which left the top corner a bit bare, so I just added a filler of tiny Liquid Pearl dots. The embossing is enhanced with a Sakura Stardust pen.

Very pretty! I love your background, what a great color to set off the poppies! I used the same stamp in a card today too. It is brand new to me and I really enjoyed using it!

I love this card for SO many reasons - First - it looks so soft, as if it were made with material!! Love how the trellis stencil showed after you misted it, AND how the lace on the edge of the stamped circle looks like it was MADE to match the strip of lace running down the length of your card!! The intense color of your flowers just jumps out at you! Lastly, this Scripture was a favorite I submitted to ODBD that got picked to be included in this Series 3 set - so glad you also liked it - will speak to your friend's heart, I am sure!!
