Since Anne Ryan has gently been after me to make some actual STAMPED cards (after all, this is Splitcoast STAMPERS) I've realized as I've looked back over my Gallery that I've really been doing an awful lot of fiddling with dies.....and stamps, not so much. So here's #2 of my recent efforts. (Anne, pay no attention to the almost unnoticeable die cut butterflies.) It's a good feeling to get back to my roots. I'm afraid that usually with stamping I have been a minimalist and generally don't make a big splash with color except maybe using exciting designer papers now and then.
These darling little birdie triplets grabbed at my heart in our LSS. Adorable little buggers! Had to decide if I wanted to color them, or not; color the leaves and flowers, or not; etc., etc. I tend to do the "or not". My decision this time was "Maybe next time". The original stamp has a tiny butterfly on it where the lowest of my (die cut.....shhh!) butterflies is. But I wanted to go Bigger and Better than only one peasly little butterfly, not that there's anything wrong with one peasly little butterfly. So now I had my mind set on Several adorable peasly little butterflies. I want to extend a big Thank You to Memory Box. (Notice how I'm not mentioning die cuts.) I couldn't decide on what color the butterflies should be so the Memory Box thingie that helps me produce paper butterflies and makes about a gazillion with one cu....use of it, helped me through my dilemma. And now I have about a pound of little adorable paper butterflies of various solid colors and assorted dp's. I wanted the card to have a feel of Spring to it. So that pretty much eliminated the darker colors. And the color choice had to contrast with their darling little bitty birdie beaks that I colored orange. Blue is always good with orange, but here they looked too...heavy. Pink butterflies are always pretty, especially if they are fluttering around Disney princesses. But, with my orange little bitty birdie beaks.....not so much. I do love orange and pink together, but just not here. Ended up with the yellow polka dot dp I used for the frame. To me it seems to have just the right touch of Spring. There is no reason my herd of butterflies can't be the same as the frame. There are no laws about this. Anyway, it is what it is. Thanks for looking.

Speak no evil, see no evil and hear no evil are the first things to come to mind when I look at this gem of a creation. I love Splitcoaststampers for so many reasons and YOU are one of them Ellen. Your cards are as wonderful as your descriptions. Big squishy hugs to you and Ernie. xxx

Oh no, I just realized the comment I left you was never uploaded. oh no. I remember commenting on your sweet little guys and those wonderfully small and lovely BF's. You must thing I'm a moron to be coming around today. Honestly, I really did leave a comment.
Oh, finally, you've stamped an image. Actually, when someone is as skilled as you are with paper and dies, why bother to stamp? I wouldn't stamp if I could figure out how to use dies. There you have it. That's how all that works.
Your card is perfectly CAS (SCS has CAS challenges every Sunday or Monday I believe). For someone who messages and swoons over papers and dies, I was astounded to see all the exceptional details on your Asian card. Oh my. Ellen, you spoiled me and enabled me at the same time. Your card is extraordinary and exquisite and you enabled me, again, by knowing now that I must have that paper asap. Is Tomorrow too soon, do you think?
Keepin' those prayers comin' your way girl. Keep me in the loop about Ernie. Thank you so much, Ellen for your incredible gift of card and papers. Oh my. It was like Christmas here! Hugs and prayers, Anne
