I was following a wonderful Einat Kessler tutorial on YouTube (which I can't find now) where she made a grid using masking tape in her art journal, then used lots of mixed media techniques in the squares, then removed the tape. So I had the idea of putting down some printed tissue paper first, for interesting texture in the space once the tape was removed. Can you see where this is going?! Duh on me, but because the tape lifted up some of the tissue paper, it encouraged me to add additional paint, which looked like streets, and made the squares look like city blocks, which is the environment I grew up in. Cities have always fascinated me, so at the end of it all I got to a page that is perfectly me despite the oops lol

This journal page is fascinating and had me staring at it for quite a while! Not sure I understand your process but I sure do love your final product. The muted colors are fantastic! Love it!

Clear as mud, right?! Wherever you see the horizontal and vertical stripes of white/purple paint, that's where the tape was. Placed horizontally and vertically, the tape formed squares that I filled with stamping and stenciling and paint/Gelatos etc. Then I removed the tape, so the patterns you see are the techniques left behind. Whew, that's harder to explain than it is to do
