the four seasons. Thanks LuvLee for the final challenge of the March VSN. A great theme, song, and inspiration. I shopped my studio for this old Stampin' UP set 'All I Have Seen' to make a 4 season card.
The images were inked directly with the Tim Holtz distress markers...the leaf, flower, and dragonfly all had three hues of their color family swiped on the rubber. I stamped on squares of watercolor paper. Mr Sun was inked with Tim Holtz 'Mustard Seed' and the Emerson quote overstepped with VersaFine 'Tuxedo Black'.
It took almost a full sheet of cardstock to lay the squares out. I didn't have any room for winter...but
since most all of us are tried of it anyway, I thought it would be okay if I didn't cover it...smile.
Thanks so much for your comments. Do you make long tall cards or short horizontal card, do you like them? Do you send them?
On to my very last VSN challenge...Shoe Girl, I am paddling....

Very nice! I have this old set as well and you just made me want to dig it out! Thanks for the explanation of how you did this. It helps us less experienced gals out there!

Great layout, Susan! When I started making cards, I used European business size a lot, and I still like the long skinny format. Love those solid blocks of colour with the delicate line images.

Susan, this is beautiful. You chose great images for your seasons and I love the quote superimposed on the sun. I've made tall cards before, but haven't tried the horizontal. You've inspired me yet again to try something new!
