The last book I read was "The Nigthingale" by Kristen Hannah. Based in WW2 France, it is a story about sisters and how they dealt with the loss of their mother and then later the war. In their own way, they both become heroes. I will just say that one of them fights in the underground resistance...and has the code name of Nightingale....there is also repeated mention of blossoms...or lack of blossoms...as well as a string of pearls. Over all... there is a message of HOPE and forgiveness and love.
I think after that description, you can see it all in my card today!!

Beautiful! This stamp set was one of my favorites when it came out and I still have it. Haven't used it for a while though. I love the way you have used it here! You've done a great job coloring the bird and the blooms. The pearls really look lovely to tie it all together! And . . the book sounds like it would be a good read.

That sounds like such an interesting book - I'll be looking that one up! My mother was a child in wartime France. I love the soft shabby chic look of your card - and I love your little bird.

Very pretty card, Dawn, love how beautifully you have used this stamp set! Your book sounds interesting - I have just finished reading "All The Light You Cannot See", set during the war and is a brilliant read!
