I have been playing with the barn board technique this week on the chance that it might be fun to try at our stamp class soon so to-day's challenge was the perfect place to use it. I masked a heart shape then stamped the little panel with a birch bark stamp that I have had since 2003! then outlined it with a brown marker to make it look like it had been carved out of the tree. The greeting was cut from a piece of ribbon that looks like birch bark using a Cheery Lynn die. It didn't stand out very well so I shadowed it with a fine brown marker. Still doesn't show up too well in the picture but in real life you can definitely see it! LOL The charm is from Mikes Bridal aisle that has been hanging around for dog years too! I am trying to use up my old stuff but I think someone is coming into my studio at night and replacing all the stuff I use with more! There seems to be no bottom to the box!!

Your barn board is so realistic looking and makes for a great masculine card with the hearts! Haha...I had to laugh out loud with your comment of stuff replacing it self. Funny how that happens! :-)

LO-OOOVE the barn board, and it does look like you were out carving yours and DH's initials in the tree! What a great guy card for any sweetheart type occasion (Valentine's day, BD, or anniversary!)

Love your fabulous card, Sue, the barn board technique looks so real - must find out about this technique - and I love your panel with the hearts, ribbon and bg stamping! I wonder if we stampers will ever use up all our old stuff LOL!
