I love todays Inspiration site and the Mixed Media challenge from yesterday. The two really work well together! I chose this hanging scroll as my inspiration. For the background, I did a coffee wash, waited until it was dry then spritzed with water. I made a sludge of instant coffee, spread some on my craft sheet and used it to ink up my stamps. It has a kind of textured, bubbly effect, almost like embossing. The sun, text behind the mountains and sentiment were stamped with Distress Inks and I sponged a bit of green pastels on the grassy areas. I layered it on Early Espresso... it's not the perfect shade, but I had to do it!

At first site, Mrs. Broom, I thought you'd embossed your images. I need to try that coffee sludge on some rubber. It makes for an incredibly interesting card with texture. This is just beautiful for both challenges. Great work my friend.

Oh my! I tried to incorporate the MIX157 coffee watercolor with todays inspiration, but had no success. I never thought to try your method of stamping with the sludge. What a wonderful effect you achieved, it looks art carved!

Love how this came out! My husband would flip over this card. I like the mix of ways you used the coffee. Great card. Hugz

I like it a latte! This is so inspired by both challenges. Love your techniques and your style. Wonderful to see a new stamp set in use. The subtle words in the background are awesome. Very nicely done! TFS

"Sludge" is the perfect word for that coffee/water mix you can stamp with - I couldn't think what to call it! Lovely sepia tones you've got for your card here!
