Oh my gosh! I was so thrilled to see the MIX challenge this week was painting with coffee and then to flip to the Inspiration Challenge and see it would work perfectly with coffee too. Love me some coffee. Love me some Asian inspired cards too - especially if Anne Ryan is playing. Anne is the queen of Asian inspired cards - in fact, I can't see an Asian inspired card without thinking about Anne. She doesn't even probably realize this, but Anne was one of my big inspirations when I first started making cards. I studied everything she did! Thanks as always for the inspiration, Anne (and Audrie).
On today's inspiration site, China Online Museum, this is what inspired me:
I painted my watercolor paper with a wash of coffee and water and let it dry with some puddles (even with the grounds still mixed in - I just wiped them off when they dried). Then I mixed up some water colors and added in some coffee with them - love the way the coffee and the green mixed together on my leaves. Lastly, I splattered on some coffee before finishing up.
So fun!
Many hugz

Oh Nancy, this is beautiful with the coffee painting. It looks like you enjoyed doing this technique. Love the earthy tone it gives to the apple blossoms. You sure nailed the comments about Ms. Anne, the icon of Asian cards. Thanks for always sharing your beautiful talents. Fav'd

Fabulous! Love the way the coffee toned down the colors- SO beautiful! The coffee spatter is the perfect final touch. This is so soft, Nancy and I love it!

Sweet Nancy, I am humbled by your comments. Thank you. I love that you aptly took 2 challenges and combined them into a beautiful work of art for both challenges. I love your Asian sentiment. I don't even own one like that!
Beautiful. Hugs.
