These are for Janelle's fun mixed media challenge "9 to 5". It has been my experience that every office has "that girl" - legs all the way up to her armpits, year round tan, never a hair out of place.....what's more, "that girl" looks just as fabulous on the weekend!!
I have decided to get an arty book started and in it I will put cards (just the front panel) that are a bit too weird or that have been made just for the fun of it - like these two panels.
I treat my card making as a hobby, so I figure it's ok not to actually make complete cards. I plan on writing colours, techniques etc....ok....yes, these probably will go into my stash until this thought flashes through my head again.
Our very own DDA Heather Hoffman does terrific little 1 minute video's for Unity Stamps, this is where I learnt about the white pencil.
To get a bit of a suntan happening on 'weekend girl', I lightly swished a foam blending tool that had the remains of walnut stain on it.
I masked the girls in order to add a bit of background stamping.
Thanks for looking.

My computer is being weird so I hope this ends up as a comment on your artsy "that girl" drawings. BOTH of these card fronts are FABULOUS! Love the stamp and your coloring so reminds me of so many chalk/charcoal sketches I used to do in school. Loved them then, love them now. GREAT cards! xx

We just got an IT girl in our office this week! She is darling! She looks a bit like this girl. Fun card or future card Susie. Some awesome techniques going on and lots of trendy stuff. I need to go watch Heather's video. Bunches of hugz!

I do know what you mean about that girl in the office...I would say that your particular girl is a far cry from goodie two shoes Marlo Thomas' That Girl (remember that show?). I love the pairing of the two sketches...they are the same yet they're not. Your shading and highlights are wonderful! LOVE...fav'd
