This is for Joyce's fun CAS challenge - back to school or school colours.
My school was one street from the beach and our colours were bright blue and yellow, representing water and sun.
I used to start off clean and tidy and not a hair out of place...by the time I fell off my bike at the first corner, I was a bit stained and a few curls had escaped, by the time I raced around all day I looked like an orphan without a mother.
No copics were harmed making this, mainly because I didn't use any, I used Gellatos and Tria markers. To tone it down a bit I swished a bit of walnut stain foam pad over everything.
This panel is going on the front cover of a little book for my grand-nieces (5 and 3). They are writing down the titles all the books they read. Can you imagine how terrific it would be to look back at the titles of all your childhood books.
Thank you for looking. have a great week everyone.

Susie this is DARLING..I was just glacing at the gallery page and spotted it and loved it immediately!! That is the cutest girl..love her socks. I can relate to your school story..I was a tomboy growing up so I always had scraped knees and hair that stuck up. I love that you're giving this to your little nieces..how wonderful that they are keeping track of books read..I do that as an adult (have for 20 years) but it's mainly so I can tell if I've already read a book! Awesome card!

She is fabulous Susie, with those fantastic socks! My school colours were dull, green and burgundy, who wants to remember that!! But these colours, they are fun and vibrant. Your grand neice's are going to love it. tfs

This is adorable, Susie! I love those Gorjuss stamps. But what really makes this shine is your story about school and knowing this is for your nieces' reading lists. Love it!

This is so cute Susie! Your nieces should really love this as a cover piece and especially since YOU made it!
I was a tomboy and ran around all day too! I was Always beating the boys except this one tall boy...couldn't outrun his long legs!! I'm sure my mom was always surprised when I got home because she always sent me looking like a fashion plate little girl and I came home looking like the neighbor boy, hee!

So cute and such a great idea writing all the book titles down! You are a pretty cool aunt! By the way, I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself or any copics during the making of this tag. Just don't ride your bike and color at the same time! tee hee! ;)

Our family is full of VORACIOUS readers. Still is, with the grands. Isn't that lovely? My children all belonged to book clubs (3 different ones), and when they moved out they took their books. There was a huge hue and cry from the others....."He/She took my books!". I ended up with tremendous lists to get each kid the books they wanted. Spent all my time on line and in used book stores! Your card is darling, and what a great idea for those little girls!!

What a mesmerizing idea to keep the girls' interest up in the books they have read!! Your sweet image is a simple one like "days gone by" and Love that you kept the colors of your childhood years, yet gave them an 'earthy' look with the walnut stain! The perfect gift for back to school! Hugs!
