I sketched the chicken shape with a white prisma colored pencil. I then used several light colored prima pencils to add random letter "c" on back side of chicken. I gradually added chalks and oil pastel marks to backside. I used a chalks primarily on head. I added an eye with a black sharpie marker. I added the white highlights in eye and on neck with white acrylic paint. I also used the end of a paint brush to add the dots of acrylic paint around the chicken.

Oh MariLynn, this is just so delightful! It reminds me of the little black smocks we used to have for painting when we were small - they were French, and were black with a floral design and white spots. The rooster is instead of the flowers, but this still has such a French feel, for me.
