To make the faux tile, I die cut five squares out of glossy paper then placed them one at a time in the middle of the EF and dry embossed. I then dabbed each tile with the distress paint, let dry, then rubbed on black Memento ink with a sponge.

I admire your patience in carefully positioning each individual tile in the ef so that they all came out the same - I'd just have fired them all in at random to emboss in one pass, LOL. I really like your layout, too, with the way the tiles and twine (and clip, which I never, never, ever can get to look right when I try using them) frame the sentiment.
