This is my sample for CC545. Karen is our hostess and she chose metallic gold and very vanilla. Dessert this week is butterflies.
I thought these colors were perfect for a Christmas card so I skipped the butterflies. I had this card from limedoodle design saved on my Pinterest board and used it for inspiration today.
My background is a Sizix snowflake embossing folder. I used a shimmery vanilla paper to embosss. The snowflakes and my merry word are cut from an Impression Obsession die in gold mirror card stock.
I used a panel of vellum to layer my snowflakes and the merry word. Finished up this card by scattering some gold dots that were popped out of the snowflakes.
I forgot how difficult it is to get a good photo with a mirror gold cardstock. I may try again tomorrow. Played around for 2 hrs tonight- enough already!!!
Hope you can play along with us this week. You may be our next fave of the week and have your card featured on our Pinterest Board. See the board here.

So lovely,Mary! I love your gold snowflakes and the vellum panel adds such a nice softness. I had such problems photographing mine too - I almost spent as long trying to get a good photo as I did making the card!

Mary, I LOVE this card! The gold snowflakes are stunning, and I love the "merry" against the vellum. You are so clever to use the gold dots, kinda like sequins. Waste not, want not. :-) Beautiful card!

I feel for you trying to get a photo that captures the shine from the metallic cardstock, but I can imagine the shiny impact this beauty has IRL. These colors do lend themselves perfectly to Christmas cards! Your intricate snowflakes look amazing.
