Today's WT is to do an ombre effect on a card. I used the sponge method, but took it a step further. After I sponged the gradient color, I misted an EF and pressed it on the panel which gave the stripes. After that was dry, I spattered the panel with some water droplets. Finally I stamped and embossed the palm fronds. The tiger was stamped, colored and cut out.
We own a 49 yr-old Sunbeam Tiger....a British sports car, and belong to a national club. I like to send b'day cards to male friends in that group which either have a depiction of their own car or have a tiger as the main theme. The inside of the card reads..."It's better to wear out than rust out. Happy Birthday"...which is apropos for these cars as well as their owners. The V-8 engine has a "roar".....how the car got its name.

Gorgeous card. I do like tigers (the animal that is, never been a big car fan) but I'm sure your friends love your tiger/car cards. Great technigue effects as well. Thanks for describing how you did it.

Great sentiment, and yes, it's certainly true for the cars too! Sallie, this is so lovely. I really love the effect you got with the misted ef to add the stripes. But given my total fail with water-stamping, I'm not sure that I will even try this. It gives such a wonderful dappled sunlight effect to create a warm happy spot for your tiger to enjoy.

Love the cool look you achieved using an embossing folder after sponging the ombre background! Your card has an exceptional 3D "layered" look, created by the different techniques you used - like looking into the jungle and seeing past the fronds, to the tiger, laying in a sunlit spot - awesome!
