My second card for today is to show appreciation for another stamping gift I recently received. My friendÂ’s sister was cleaning out her craft room and decided she would no longer be using her Pearl Ex powdered pigments (24 beautiful colors!!). Why, why, why would anyone not want to hold onto these beauties? Giggle. I made a thank you card to show Jane that her retired supplies had reached a loving home and would be put to good use!
I stated by stamping Inkadinkado Doodle Flowers on watercolor paper and white heat embossed them. I added a touch of watercolor to the petals and allowed that to dry. Even though the powdered pigments are vibrant and beautiful I’ve not found another way to achieve shading with them. Using a small paintbrush I then carefully filled the embossed borders with Winsor & Newton Gum Arabic – working a few petals a time – and applied the colored Pearl Ex powders using a separate dry brush. The Gum binds the powder resulting in slightly raised, shiny, shimmery goodness! Once the images are dry it’s really easy to apply a subtle watercolor background without disturbing the main image because it resists the watercolor. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your crafty day!!

I cannot believe I've missed all these cards. Yikes, I've got all those PX colors that I've never used. I've not really found much in the way of utube to show me what do do with them so I'm elated I've stumbled upon your card. I have gum Arabic so I need to try this like yesterday. Your card is gorgeous. Wow!
