Since the challenge is Beachy, I think my mermaid & seashells should be right at home. The hardest part about this card was finding an ink that would stick to this shimmery lt. teal card stock. The second hardest was waiting for the stickles to dry. Usually I accidentally touch it & make a mess.
I wanted to stamp the shells & highlight the seahorse & waves with a blue ink & I only have Stazon in white & black. I tried Distress ink, Memento, Chalk ink..nothing would stick. Until I got out my Ancient Page. Success! So after stamping & coloring the mermaid, I fussy cut her & the stamped shells. The waves & seahorse were die cut & highlighted w/ the AP ink. The circle burst was also die cut & I used the white Stazon to stamp the wave pattern inside. After it was all attached to the card, I stamped the greeting & added stickles for sparkle.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups (where you can really see the shimmer & sparkle) & the Copic colors are on my blog: The Write Stuff

What a fabulous bg for your mermaid, Julie. I love the die cut, the mermaid, seahorse and shells, but your description really got to me! I am also guilty of sticking my hands into anything wet on my cards, especially stickles. I thought I was just being impatient in the beginning, but since I still do it, I think I'm just a klutz.
Wonderful card, and how great you found something that would stick to that wonderful paper!! Love your card with all the parts and texture.
