I wanted to make a special card for mom for mother's day as opposed to just grabbing one out of my stock. So this is what I came up with.
I started this card with the ornate die cut. This was the biggest pain in the rear that I've worked with yet. This die cut did not want to open up the way it was suppose to and I literally had to cut some of the circles with my scissors because it didn't cut all the way thru.
After I got my initial piece done, I played with several different colors when I finally came up with the pink pirouette as the backdrop for my pretty peony from Bloomin Beautiful. This is one of my all time favorite stamp sets.
I decided my pink needed texture so I found an ef that I liked and ran it thru the cb.
I was originally going to just mount it on the pink but I thought it was kind of bland to do it that way, so again I played around with colors and thought the pale plum would work nicely, it is subtle and I like it. So I ran that thru the cb using the same ef. I mounted it on razzleberry and used pirouette as my base.
I thought the flower needed something besides the glitter gel pen, so I found a plum piece of ribbon and tied it around the stem of the flower.
Then I stamped the bee from the set, used glitter gel pen on that, cut it out, and popped it up.
tfl and happy mother's day for all the mom's out there.

Wow! You created a beautiful card. The textures, edges and colors in the background are fabulous. The flower left uncolored is striking on this colorful, detailed background! I like it. Into my favs, so I can try this style. Nicely done. TFS
