We've had everything from blue skies and sunshine to grey skies and hail today - the one constant has been that it's never really got warm. So I went back to last Friday's MIX112 First Day of Spring to add some Spring to my afternoon. With the previous week's MIX in mind too, I used gilding flakes to frame my dictionary page.
I think these flowers are more like tulips - but I took the yellow and purple from some beautiful crocuses we saw when we went for a walk in the park on Sunday.
Gessoed the music page before work, stamped and embossed the image. Coloured it with Twinkling H2Os.
For the front, I sponged a dictionary page mostly with Mowed Lawn, but also some brown, blue and green. Sponged the back with blue for when I tore the frame and curled some edges back. Stamped some flourishes in Forest Moss, edged it with gilding flakes, and added some flecks of white acrylic paint.
Sentiment stamped on white card, sponged, punched out and edged with a gold leafing pen.

Goodness gracious -I am so glad you explained all the steps you went through to make this wonderful card - I love that you are bringing spring into your cardmaking, even if you are not living in it quite yet!
Love the doodling around the flowers (or is that part of your stamp?) and the wonderfully distressed frame - you are so free with your designing and I love the look this has ! Awesome card!

This is sensational. The rolled and torn frame is so much fun and the colors you chose are so bright and pretty. All the patterns and textures add up to one amazing mixed media masterpiece. I just love this one.
