I had to think a long time to come up with an idea for Brenda's Treasured Memories VSN challenge that I could work into a card.
My mother was brought up (mostly) in France, but she left when she had finished university, and after that she lived (mostly) in Canada till she ended up here. So with a LOT of moves along the way, she had very little that moved all the way with her. This glass peacock was her nightlight when she was a little girl - and though it no longer works (I'm sure it could be repaired) she gave it to me when I was still quite young, and it has made every move with me ever since.
I used an old ATC (if you want any info, it's in THIS UPLOAD -2008, it's definitely time he moved off the ledge beside my computer monitor!! I paired him with a feather that was one of the samples I made for the tutorial for Faux Enamel TLC challenge a while back. I tied a little bow with the same metallic floss I'd used way back for the peacock's crest, and edged my embossed base with the same Stickles.
With the feather (used kitchen foil) and the holographic papers plus some metallic Gelato I added in to ground the peacock, I'm also tagging this for the current MIX111 challenge.

so much to love here! what a unique nightlight, definitely a treasure.
Gorgeous colors, great feather, but that tail built of pencil shavings is so smart! I've had a photo saved of pencil shaving art I've wanted to try for a while now.
