...and it's all small stuff....
I acquired an old and shrunken wool sweater in a fill a bag for 5$ sale at the thrift and my main purpose in buying it was to harvest the beautiful blue shell buttons. I am a bit of a button snob and prefer shell to plastic any day of the week. Well anyway as I was snipping my new treasures off the poor unloved sweater I had the brainstorm to give it new life for the free for all challenge to use baby blues and/or pinks in an non baby card. I first tried using the flourish die on the sweater as it was and realized it needed backing or I would NEVER be able to unfurl it and glue it to my card properly. So I mounted a swatch of it to a sheet of TTT(terrifically tacky tape) and it cut beautifully. I did not peel off the backing I glued the flourished down tape, paper and all. The *ribbon* of wool at the bottom of the card was cut from the vertical part where the buttonholes were and I was able to maneuver it through the little metal buckle with no problem.
I am in the process of merging my crafts things that have been in storage and came across my beautiful brass stencils. I wanted to create the look of a blanket so used the woven embossing folder from goosebumps. I may have gotten carried away embossing the focal piece, Karen Barber can pull it off but honestly I liked it better before. ;~(
So there you have it thank you for looking and taking the time to read this long description! Hugs and Happy Friday, NR
