In the late 70's and early 80's I worked for the President of Old Harbor Candles in Hyannis, MA. I did the overseas ordering of candles and glass. Another part of my job was receiving samples from the chemists in the company to see if I could identify the scents, and burning test candles to check for dripping. But, the best part was getting to take home all the samples I could load in my car. I still have cartons of candles, after sharing with friends and family. My favorites are the Christmas candles, some of which are one of a kind, because they never put them into production.
For this card, I used Distress dauber bottles and just dragged them across dry paper, then spritzed with water. Colored my shells and seagull and punched the "seaweed". Matted on brown with black base. Dies: IO/Shell set, Seagulls - SB/Card Creator. Seaweed is MS/Autumn Branch punch.

Makes one want to be on the beach! Lovely background for your shells. Lucky you having that kind of job - I love scented candles and burn them regularily especially when I am colouring something. tfs

Your card is gorgeous Priscilla!!! I love the turquoise colors and the seagull flying through the air so graciously. You did a super job of recreating those candles. I can remember having one like this that smelled so clean and yummy. Thanks for sharing this beauty. :>)
